Assam's communal violence and its huge humanitarian crisis tops the agenda as the Monsoon Session of Parliament begins today. The Prime Minister, who is a Rajya Sabha MP from Assam, told reporters at parliament this morning that the government will make a statement on Assam. He also said that he hopes this parliament session will be used as a forum for "discussion and dialogue."
