Amit Shah Inaugurates Kolkata's Ram Mandir-Themed Durga Puja in Massive Outreach

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Durga Puja at Santosh Mitra Square in Kolkata themed on the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya which will be inaugurated next year. Amit Shah's Durga Puja inauguration comes close on the heels of Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurating around 800 Durga Pujas in one go virtually. Last year, Durga Puja was included in UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity but the festival has also sparked a war of words between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress over the last few years with both parties wanting to connect with the masses through Durga Puja.
