West Bengal civic polls: Trinamool losing ground?

The Trinamool Congress sat on a 'dharna' today outside the state election commission. They are demanding the counting of votes on October 7 as scheduled. The opposition complaints of rigging after violence in Kolkata polling booths in which nearly 20 journalists were beaten up. The opposition parties have attacked Mamata Banerjee's government for the violence and her critics are calling it an absence of democracy. The Civic Polls are being seen as a curtain raiser to Assembly Elections due next year, and the stakes are high.
