"What does India do if it doesn't buy Russian oil? China will buy more of it. Many countries in Europe are buying it too. If Russian production of oil goes down, global oil prices will shoot up, which will hurt the entire world's economy. India's move is in the interest of its consumers, its own economy as well as the world economy," said former Petroleum Secretary RS Pandey.
