with that. Let's also go across to our other panellists. Joining us from the US stinks in Asia. Thinks some would call you among the lucky ones. Because not only have you studied in the US, but you're currently working in Philadelphia. Was it tough to find a job straight out of college? Did you face any administrative hurdles I did? I graduated my undergrad in in the Elect and then I graduated my masters in it. So So both of them to be very challenging to for finding jobs. So when I graduated undergraduate, uh, my undergraduate degree. I went right to, um, graduate school, so I didn't have to look for a job then. But when I finished in 2020 it was a big struggle for everyone to find a job. I actually ended up going back to the country in ground, so it was a little bit easier. But because of covid visas were a lot slower travel. V was a lot of problem, and it's been a bit difficult with, um, various changes in the US immigration system for foreign. So I think it would have been harder if I didn't study in the US but study film makes it really hard things. Have you ever considered working in any other foreign country that doesn't have a stringent visa mechanism in place for international students like the US? Have you considered Canada and the UK, for example? I have I've considered Canada, and I've considered, uh, the UK. But because I've studied architecture, it's very difficult to transitioning from one country to the other because of local code laws learning laws. So I ha I would have to basically start from stats or go back and do another degree or take various exams, so it would be a big, difficult transition. However, if I were to do another major like if I was studying in another stream, it would be much easier, especially because the UK has now announced a visa for students with a lot with, um, certain certain schools and one of my graduates who qualifies for that visa. So I could, in theory, move to the UK. But I'm sure that has its own struggles, and Canada is, um, it's a point system, so I do. I'm eligible for the point system, but, um, it take it's a lot slower to get the Canadian visa after studying in the US than it is to get it in Canada. But it's probably faster to do it from the US than it is to do it from your home country. So I'm actually in the process of also filing that visa. Well, thanks. Let's also opens Bali at this point you studied in Exeter in the UK and in Arizona in the US Was it difficult finding a job after completing your degree? I would like to say that the job opportunities there are plentiful. I mean, at the end of the day, it is the West. Um, you just have to kind of attend, the student says. Put in your job applications, and I wouldn't say that they give you an underweight in any sense, like you're equally, you know, regarded as any other student over there. However, of course, there are visa implications and many other issues that fall through, so that is something that's kind of dependent on the current government, whether it's Republican or Democratic government in their policies. However, in terms of like, you know, applying in general and the student base. And, um, the response from an employer, it's very neutral. And, uh, not as difficult as some people play it out to be. And you were comfortable completing an undergraduate degree in four years in the US, as opposed to three years in countries like the UK and Canada. Yeah. I mean, it totally depends on your goals. You know, some people want to get into the job world as soon as they can. So for those people, definitely, if you can achieve the same kind of education in a shorter period, why not? But some people wanna kind of have a more holistic campus, um, university experience where you might have to spend another year. Um, so it's it's kind of, uh, up to personal preference, in my opinion. And you think if a person studies abroad, it's considered a chink in their armour? As far as seeking employment is concerned, I think that, uh, Indian colleges should ideally also have the same way taken from an IIT I and or one of the big ones. Um however, naturally, I feel exposure to another country and, you know, understanding the ways of how global business works or, you know, whatever field that the person is, uh, joining should naturally have a little bit of, uh, give a little bit of an extra boost to your TV or your job. Uh, portfolio, naturally. Right. We also have with us immigration expert Rohit Sharma. Thank you so much, sir, for being so patient. You've just heard from the and S Bali. Stringent visa mechanisms seem to be a recurring issue for many Indian students. So what's the way forward? What's your advice? Especially for those struggling to gain or renew visas. Thank you very much. Uh, prems for having me on the show to start with? Yes, Uh, I've been waiting with some patients and thank you for that as well. And I, you know, coming to this, uh, question of yours first and foremost, I believe you know that, uh, this Indo Canada blip that has happened, you know, with due respect to the sensitivity of the matter, I think it is, uh, more of a perception more of a self ID, you know, feeling that actually created, and that's very common human mind react to situations like this. But the fact is, this entire episode happened in the month of September, and by the time in fact, all the universities and colleges were sold out, right? The students were already there in Canada. Now, when the now we are sitting in the month of October and everything is actually diluting off, things are actually getting back to the track. In fact, they never went off the track. Now the thing is, when these students are applying for education to Canada, please understand they are looking forward to the sessions which are coming in January or May or June. So by the time I don't see anything, you know that is going to diffuse out to this entire, uh, you know, immigration and the visa plans and all of the students. Also, if Indian students are when it comes to the number of students you know travelling to Canada across the globe, if Indian make the most number of students, you know from all the students that have landed in Canada. In fact, last year, 2022 the 47% of the international students that landed in Canada in Indians were making the 47% of that. So if Indians were landing in Canada over the last so many years and they are still landing and Canadian government is also welcoming. Then all these thing was happening and is happening for some right reasons. Now, those right reasons doesn't just don't turn bad overnight. So students migrate to Canada. Uh, you know, for studies they want to study there. They want to have their work permits. They want to have permanent residency pathways. That's one of the key reason it comes in the North American umbrella. All is well, so there is no no visa technologies. Nothing is gonna happen. You need to apply. As per the requirement which were placed one month back, there is no change in the requirement itself. There is no documentation that they are saying hello Now this has happened. We are asking this ABC D document. Nothing is there so students can simply apply and take this. It is up and happening as I'm being very open to you on this, right?
