Divided opinion on new pharma policy

The government has cleared the new pharma policy with an aim to bring down the price of essential drugs. However, opinions are divided on the issue. Speaking to NDTV, while Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Director at Narayana Hridalaya, said the step will kill the industry, Dr Randeep Guleria, head of pulmonary medicines at AIIMS, feels the move is in the right direction as it will make medicines affordable for the poor.
