New Navy Chief | Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan Appointed As New Chief Of The Naval Staff
The Government of India has appointed Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan as the next Chief of the Naval Staff. He will succeed Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi on May 31, 2026. Commissioned into the Indian Navy in 1987, Vice Admiral Swaminathan is an alumnus of the NDA and has commanded several major naval platforms, including INS Vikramaditya. He currently serves as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command.
