Search and rescue operations continued at a hydropower plant in Nepal where more than 100 people were feared trapped following devastating floods. Rescue crews were also working to clear a major highway connecting Kathmandu with one of the worst-hit areas. Authorities issued fresh flood warnings after water levels rose in the Bhotekoshi River, with residents in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading urged to remain on high alert. In Galchhi, residents moved to higher ground as powerful floodwaters swept through the area, leaving homes, vehicles and farmland buried in thick sediment. The combined death toll in Nepal and Tibet has risen to 750, with more than 3,000 people reported missing.
