Torrential rains lashed Mumbai, with several areas recording nearly 200 mm of rainfall in just 12 hours, causing widespread flooding, road cave-ins, tree falls and disruptions to road and rail traffic. The relentless downpour also affected Thane, Navi Mumbai, Palghar and parts of Pune, triggering landslides, road closures and evacuations from flood-hit localities, once again exposing the region's monsoon preparedness.
