Torrential rainfall has battered Mumbai, with several parts of the city receiving nearly 200 mm of rain in just 12 hours, leading to severe waterlogging, road cave-ins, tree falls and disruptions to road and rail traffic. The impact has spread across Thane, Palghar, Navi Mumbai and Pune, where landslides, flooded roads and evacuations have been reported.
