Mizoram will vote on November 7, with the ruling Mizo National Front, and opposition parties Congress and Zoram People's Movement contesting all seats. The BJP has fielded candidates in 23 of the 40 seats. In 2018, the MNF came to power winning 26 seats, while the Zoram People's Movement won eight, the Congress five, and the BJP one. In the last few years, the BJP has been making many serious inroads in the northeast. Christian-majority Mizoram is seen as the BJP's final frontier in the northeast. The Congress was routed in the 2018 Assembly elections but is now looking to regain lost ground. NDTV's Ratnadip Chowdhury reports.
