Mirabai Chanu Scripts Hat-Trick Of Commonwealth Games Gold Medals

India's golden start at the Commonwealth Games 2026 is here! Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu won India's first gold medal at the Games by clinching the women's 48kg weightlifting title. Chanu also created history by winning her third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold, completing a remarkable hat-trick after her victories in 2018 and 2022. Mirabai overcame early setbacks in both the snatch and clean & jerk events before finishing with a Games record total of 190kg.
