Gender pay gap or the difference between men and women's average hourly earnings is a contentious issue. As the debate on the matter rages globally, a recent report shows the figures for India to be as high as 27%. Experts point out gender pay gap is the manifestation of the gender-based social inequalities and the discrimination prevalent in society.
