"Message Of Love, Peace, Harmony" In Mementos At Shops Inside UAE's 1st Hindu Temple
PM Modi will inaugurate the iconic BAPS Hindu Mandir today which is the first-ever Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), before leaving for a two-day visit to Qatar. NDTV spoke to volunteers at gift shops inside the temple complex, who said that the mementos give a message of "love, peace and harmony" and a Hindu temple in a desert in an Arab country reflects the idea of coexistence. The temple is constructed on the land gifted by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE. In 2015 he donated 13.5 acres of land for the construction of the first temple in the UAE. In 2019, he gifted an additional 13.5 acres.
