Meet Naseer Ahmad Mir, The Young Santoor Artist From Kashmir

Santoor, a traditional Indian musical instrument, is not new to Kashmir. Kashmir has produced numerous Santoor musicians. Naseer Ahmad Mir, a 22-year-old teenager from the remote hamlet of Chakoora in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir, has pursued Santoor playing as a passion. Naseer has become Pulwama's first professional Santoor player with a Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts and specialization in Hindustani classical Santoor. He is now pursuing his master's degree in Hindustani classical Santoor at an Indian University and intends to pursue a PhD in the same discipline. (Video credit: ANI)
