A member of Aawaj NGO in Bhopal and a part of UNCEF India's #YoungWarrior movement, 24-year-old Asma Khan built a team of 50 students in Madhya Pradesh to help in Covid response. They helped over 60,000 vulnerable households including that of migrant workers, daily wagers, transgenders with food and dry ration. During the second wave, the group focused on verifying information on hospital beds, oxygen supply, medicines among other things and helped people with essential medical items. Asma with her group continues to raise awareness among people about Covid norms and vaccination using mythological figures like 'Yamraj' in forms of stories enacted by them regularly among various communities.
