Maharashtra minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha conducted a review of Mumbai’s KEM Hospital and expressed dissatisfaction with its condition. He said his visit was a “bad experience,” alleging that senior doctors prevented him from holding a Janata Darbar. Lodha indirectly blamed the Thackerays by saying that they had appointed Khans who charge lakhs of rupees for licence. "We will target the community, if they are wrong, then we will target them" Lodha pointed out multiple issues, non-functional lifts, outdated medical machinery, and lack of ventilation at the registration counter, while noting that many patients prefer private clinics due to poor facilities.
