A relief for the Maharashtra's petrol dealers who went on strike earlier this week, the Maharashtra government caved in to their demands and slashed diesel prices by announcing a five per cent cut in sales tax on diesel. The prices are set to fall by around Rs 2.40 by December 1. The move will cost the state Rs 485 crore a year.
