Maharashtra Auto, Taxi Drivers Get To 1 Year To Learn Marathi: D Fadnavis
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given auto-rickshaw, taxi and cab drivers one year to learn functional Marathi. The decision follows a meeting with representatives of drivers’ organisations, who sought more time citing the varied ages and educational backgrounds of people working in the sector. Fadnavis said drivers support the requirement for those working in Mumbai to have a basic working knowledge of Marathi, while the government has taken their concerns into account.
