Bengaluru's low-budget hospitality sector is facing a severe crisis as disruptions in the supply of commercial LPG cylinders hit hotel operations. Many small and mid-sized establishments are struggling to procure cooking gas, forcing them to scale down kitchen services and absorb mounting financial losses. Hotel association representatives say that while government directives promised partial supply, many smaller hotels are receiving little to no LPG. With limited alternatives due to power shortages and lack of firewood, several businesses are now on the brink of closure. Supply chain disruptions have further worsened the situation, preventing LPG stocks from reaching smaller areas and sub-dealers. Industry stakeholders have urged authorities to intervene urgently to prevent widespread shutdowns across the sector.
