Rajasthan saw rallies by key leaders today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was in Karauli-Dholpur, made a big announcement that the exam mafia of Rajasthan will soon be behind bars, and that it is the Congress party that let this industry thrive. Dholpur, a town bordering Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan is known for the family that former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was wedded to. Karauli is known for its religious and spiritual importance. PM Modi accused the Congress of betraying the aspirations of young people and farmers. A few kilometres away, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi too held rallies in Bikaner and Jodhpur. Both are reserved constituencies, and Jodhpur is a thriving trade centre, the second-most important city in Rajasthan, also with a military base. Here, Mr Gandhi said the Agniveer scheme should be scrapped, and that the Lok Sabha 2024 was going to be an election of backward people, Dalits, tribals and the poor.
