The Trinamool Congress has fielded young Oxford scholar, anti-CAA voice Shahnawaz Ali Raihan from Malda South. He says his opponent is a gentleman but not fit for politics. NDTV spoke to the Trinamool Congress candidate during an early morning campaign in the Malda South seat while he was campaigning at a local village market in an 'adda' at a remote village on the India-Bangladesh border and also engaged in some favourite Bengali weekend pastime, checking out the fresh fish on sale. Speaking to NDTV the Trinamool candidate said he would focus on education and getting central funds to Malda if elected as MP.
