Lakshmi Jena, Odisha's Woman Mortician Who Has Cremated 40,000 Bodies In 14 Years

Laxmi Jena from Odisha's Mayurbhanj district has been cremating bodies for 14 years. Till now, the woman mortician has cremated more than 40,000 bodies. She lives with her husband and children near Mayurbhanj's crematorium. Her husband used to do the final rites, but since he is unwell Lakshmi takes care of it now. "I have been staying here inside the crematorium ground for the last 14 years with my husband and five children and have cremated more than 40,000 bodies..." she said.
