Speaking to NDTV, Muddassir Quamar, Associate Professor of West Asian Studies at JNU, said the assassination of Ali Khamenei has created a complex strategic challenge for India amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. Quamar noted that India shares close ties with both Iran and Israel, making it imperative for New Delhi to carefully balance its foreign policy in the region. He stressed that India must “walk a diplomatic tightrope” to safeguard its strategic and economic interests.
