The Division Bench of the Kerala High Court cleared The Kerala Story 2 for its theatrical release today amid controversy over its alleged stereotyping of Kerala and its people. Soon after the verdict was out, The Kerala Story 2 makers announced that they will hold a conference in the evening in Mumbai, adding that the film will "release tonight". The tickets for The Kerala Story 2 are now open on online platfoms such as BookMyShow. Earlier in the day, a new petition was filed against the film citing the continued booking of movie tickets for screenings despite the judicial stay. The decision by the Kerala High Court comes a day after the division bench reserved its judgment on the appeal filed by The Kerala Story 2 producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, challenging the single judge's interim order that stayed the film's release earlier yesterday.
