Anger is escalating in Karur and across Tamil Nadu as actor-politician Vijay remains absent from public view, two days after a tragic stampede at his rally left 41 dead and over 60 injured. Fresh posters have appeared across Karur showing Vijay with blood-stained hands, condemning his silence and absence.
Meanwhile, Vijay's party TVK has approached the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, seeking to transfer the investigation from Karur police to the CBI or an SIT, alleging the stampede was not a mismanagement issue, but the result of a conspiracy against Vijay and the party.
