Karti Chidambaram Welcomes GST Cut, Calls For Simpler, Single-Tax Regime

Reacting to New GST Reform by BJP Government. Congress MP karti chidambaram Has said, I welcome the reduction in the GST rates, albeit, it could have been done much earlier, because everybody's been pointing out that we can't have these multiple slabs of GST. I personally am a believer in low taxation, so I would ideally like the government to move to a position where we have either no GST on certain products or one GST rate for the rest of the products. Even now, they have 3 rates, I think 5, 18, and 40 now. But then we must say hopefully they will move in a direction where we'll have either 0 or 1 rate, 18 or 15, whatever it is.
