Sugarcane farmers across Belagavi and Vijayapura hit the streets demanding a minimum support price of ₹3,500 per ton. The Hasiru Sene-led agitation forced the closure of 26 sugar mills as protests spread across Karnataka. BJP’s BY Vijayendra joined farmers in cornering the Congress government over the issue.
