A fishing boat named Ayaan sank at Alivabagilu in Mangaluru while returning from a deep-sea fishing trip. The purse seine boat, owned by Ibrahim Khaleel, reportedly hit rocks near the harbour entrance, damaging its bottom and causing water to enter rapidly. Six fishermen on board were rescued by the crew of another fishing boat. The Ayaan eventually sank, with the incident resulting in losses estimated at several lakhs of rupees.
