The Karnataka government has questioned the process of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, while the BJP maintains that the exercise is necessary to identify duplicate and ineligible voters. Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge said the state government has raised 12 questions over alleged discrepancies in the SIR process but has received no answers. He also accused the Election Commission of acting like an “extra-constitutional authority.”
