Kanyakumari To Kashmir: Australian Physiotherapist Of Indian Origin Runs To End Leprosy Stigma

Australian physiotherapist Om Satija is running nearly 4,700 kilometres across India — from Kanyakumari to Srinagar’s Lal Chowk — to raise awareness about leprosy and fight the stigma surrounding the disease. The 23-year-old, inspired by a childhood visit to Rishikesh, covers nearly 60 kilometres daily while stopping at schools and villages to educate people about public health, compassion and the fact that leprosy is completely curable. His extraordinary journey has drawn support from locals across several states.
