Kanwar Yatra Rules: New Diktat For Eateries
Big changes ahead for this year's Kanwar Yatra. Both the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments have issued fresh directives aimed at food stalls and eateries along the pilgrimage route. Under the new rules, all food vendors must now have valid licenses and prominently display their names and contact numbers. A food safety display board has also been made mandatory. As faith meets food safety, the Kanwar Yatra is now at the center of a new debate-about governance, religious sentiments, and politics.
