Kamal Haasan, an actor turned politician and the president of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), has launched a state-wide campaign ahead of the Tamil Nadu elections in May. With corruption, good governance, unemployment and environmental protecting as key poll issues, his rallies draw a large number of young men and women. NDTV caught up with him in Vellore, where Mr Haasan spoke about invoking AIADMK founder and late Chief Minister MGR, his promise of government salary to housewives, computers with internet in all homes, and seeking superstar Rajinikanth's support. He also responded to questions on alliance, his plan to create jobs, whether his daughters would campaign for him and a lot more, including his take on prohibition.
