Jharkhand Student Protest: Police Fire Tear Gas, Use Water Cannons On Job Aspirants Near Assembly

Tensions escalated near the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha as police used water cannons, tear gas and baton charges against job aspirants protesting alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. The protesters breached barricades and moved towards the Assembly premises, following several rounds of talks with the state government that failed to resolve the deadlock. The agitators said the government had agreed to cancel only three of the 13 exams they want scrapped.
