Jharkhand News | 7-Year-Old Ranchi Boy Swims 29 Km In 10 Hours From Sri Lanka To India, Sets Record

7-year-old Ishank from Ranchi has created history by becoming the world’s youngest swimmer to cross the Palk Strait between Sri Lanka and India. He completed the dangerous 29-kilometre sea route from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu in just 9 hours and 50 minutes. With this remarkable feat, Ishank broke the previous record held by Jay Jaswanth of Tamil Nadu and earned the World Record Certificate for “The Youngest and Fastest Palk Strait Swimmer” from URF World Records. A Class 3 student of DAV Shyamali, Ranchi, Ishank trained for months with daily 4 to 5-hour practice sessions at Dhurwa Dam under the guidance of coaches Aman Kumar Jaiswal and Bajrang Kumar.
