Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to direct Bharat BioTech to do technology transfer of Covaxin and ICMR-NIV to provide the viral strain to whoever is interested and capable of manufacturing the vaccine, so that patents or Intellectual Property Rights do not become a hindrance to increasing the production and affordability of the vaccine.
