Firefighters continued to battle a blaze in the Vesuvius National Park in southern Italy. Hot temperatures and winds fuelled a fire that has been burning since Friday. Aircraft and helicopters are being used to dump water on the flames. Dozens of Civil Protection volunteers and vehicles and mechanical equipment from the army are also being used. The fire broke out late Friday afternoon in the woods of Terzigno and spread to the slopes of Mount Somma, reaching an altitude of 1,050 metres. No homes or people have been affected.
