Israeli Airstrike Hits Gaza's Shati Refugee Camp After Residents Receive Warning

An Israeli strike hit Gaza City's Shati refugee camp on Thursday night, hitting a building with no injuries reported. After receiving a warning, residents moved out of the area and watched the strike, which was one of many in the Strip on Thursday. Earlier Thursday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel controls 60% of Gaza and the next step was to move to 70% control. Since a fragile ceasefire came into effect last October, over 900 people have been killed in Gaza and more than 2,800 others have been injured, according to the ministry of health. The ministry is part of Gaza’s Hamas-run government, but is staffed by medical professionals who maintain and publish detailed records viewed as generally reliable by the international community.
