Israel News Today | Israelis Rally In Tel Aviv For Democracy & To Demand Return Of Deceased Hostages Israeli protesters gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday (November 8) to save "the Israeli democracy" and to demand that the government ensure the return of the remaining deceased hostages from Gaza, the protesters held large banners with pictures of the hostages whose bodies are still held in Gaza. Under a U.S.-mediated agreement to end the war in Gaza and release hostages, Hamas released 20 living hostages and was to release 28 deceased hostages but still holds 11 bodies. Israel and Hamas have reiterated their commitment to the U.S.-mediated ceasefire while trading accusations of repeated violations since it took effect on October 10. The deal has so far seen the release of living hostages held in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, a handover of bodies of some deceased hostages and a partial pullout of Israeli troops.
