Sarah Qanan’s goal was to study medicine and become a doctor. She studied hard, day and night, for many years. She was on top of her primary and elementary classes. She was preparing for the high school exam, a turning point in her life, when the war between Hamas and Israel broke out in Gaza about two years ago. The prolonged war turned her dream of being a doctor into ashes. Her only hope now, she says, is to stay alive amid Israel’s relentless bombing. “My sole dream was to study medicine,” she said, pausing for a while as she remembered her pre-war, full-of-hope life. “I stopped thinking of it. All my thoughts now are how to survive.” Qanan, who will turn 19 in September, was one of hundreds of thousands of students in Gaza who forcibly missed their schooling for the second year in a row amid Hamas-Israel ongoing war. #Israel #Gaza #Hamas #War #Netanyahu #Palestine #Trump #NDTVWorld #NDTVDigitalOriginals
