Is India ready to double its renewable energy capacity?

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has proposed that the country should work to double its capacity of renewable energy to 55,000 MW by 2017 from 25,000 MW in 2012. How difficult or realistic is the number given the eased up interests and investments in the energy sector, discuss experts, Dr Prodipto Ghosh, former secretary of MOEF and distinguished fellow at TERI; Sumant Sinha, chairman and CEO of ReNew Wind Power; energy expert Narendra Taneja; and Sheshan Bala Krishnan, power analyst at Ernst & Young.
