A parliamentary panel on languages has recommended using Hindi and regional languages for teaching in centre-run higher learning institutes. "We don't have the system (to aspire to become a doctor in a regional language) at present. Will the centre be willing to spend that kind of money on all other regional languages in question? Do we get our fair share? Rs 80 crore to promote Hindi...how much is the money spent on promoting Telugu or Kannada?" said DMK spokesperson A Saravanan.
