Parts of Iran’s capital saw damage on Friday morning after thousands of protesters marched through the streets overnight following a call for demonstrations by the country’s exiled crown prince. The unrest continued despite a nationwide internet and international phone blackout imposed by Iranian authorities. State media aired footage of burnt vehicles, scorched buildings and debris, while activist videos circulating online appeared to show protesters chanting against the government in Tehran and other cities.
