Haykel said the spike in oil prices to around $120 per barrel has alarmed Washington due to its potential economic impact. However, he added that Iran still retains significant capabilities, including drones, missiles, and fast naval boats, meaning the conflict could continue as both sides engage in a tense strategic standoff.
