Indian Women Boxers Clinch Four Medals In World Boxing Championships

Indian boxers won four medals, including one silver and three bronze, at the Women's World Boxing Championships in Russia. Manju Rani won silver after losing to Russia's Ekaterina Paltceva in the 48kg final. She became the first Indian woman boxer in 18 years to reach the final of the event on her maiden appearance. Veteran Mary Kom won her record-extending eighth medal in the competition history. Mary Kom and two other Indian boxers Jamuna Boro and Lovlina Borgohain took home bronze medals in their respective categories.
