Indian Navy News | Indian Navy Welcomes To Stealth Warships: Indian-Built, Brutally Armed

In a historic moment for the Indian Navy, two state-of-the-art warships, INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri, from the Project 17A class are being commissioned simultaneously. This marks the first time the Navy has inducted two large warships at the same time. We speak with the commanding officers of both ships, Captain Vikas Sood of INS Udaygiri and Captain Robin Chakravorty of INS Himgiri, who share their immense pride and the strategic significance of these new assets. The two frigates, built to an entirely Indian design, will enhance the Navy's capabilities in the Indian Ocean, a region of growing strategic importance.
