India Set For Massive AI Infra Expansion, Says Jeet Adani At Inauguration Of Google AI Centre

Jeet Adani said India is entering a new phase of AI-led growth driven by infrastructure and energy, speaking at the Google Cloud India AI Hub groundbreaking in Visakhapatnam. He highlighted that India currently has around 1.3 GW of data centre capacity, while nearly 1 GW is being envisioned at a single location-signalling a massive scale-up. Emphasising that "AI runs on electricity," Adani said energy is the biggest cost factor in computing, giving India a structural advantage as it builds large-scale infrastructure. Backed by investments from the Adani Group and collaboration with Google Cloud, Vizag is emerging as a key hub in India's digital and AI future.
