Whether it is the attack on Jammu airport on June 27, 2021,  the illegal dropping of drugs, weapons and money from across the border with Pakistan or the air surveillance by swarming in the border area with China, the challenge from unmanned aerial vehicles has made India's borders porous and defence vulnerable. After over 10 years of research, a Hyderabad-based deeptech firm has developed an AI-based autonomous drone security system that has emerged as an answer to these security challenges. Uma Sudhir spoke to Uttarakhand governor and former deputy chief of army staff Lt Gen Gurmit Singh and founder of Grene Robotics, Kiran Raju, who explains how that has become possible.
