As Nawaz Sharif gets set for a third term as Pakistan's prime minister, he has reached out to India, saying he would be very happy to have Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his oath-taking ceremony. Dr Singh, too, has responded to Mr Sharif, having invited the latter to India. As the bonhomie between the two prime ministers from Punjab on both sides of the border is on display, we debate if Indian diplomacy can swing from its "it can't be business as usual" stance to actually inviting Mr Sharif to India in a matter of months.
