After the very public power struggle in the Samajwadi Party, Mayawati is trying hard to project herself as the only secular alternative to the BJP, even though Akhilesh Yadav remains a popular leader amongst young voters across caste and class. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi's sudden strike against black money has forced all political parties in Uttar Pradesh to re-strategise their campaigns, leaving the people in the state confused about who should lead them for the next five years.
